10 Minute Timer
A countdown timer preset to 10 minutes. Press Start (or Space) and you will hear an alarm when it reaches zero. You can still change the time before starting.
Ten minutes is the go-to length for a Pomodoro-style break, a HIIT session, a guided meditation, rice on low heat or a hard-boiled egg. Many teachers also use it for quizzes and reading time.
- Set the time – Click Configure and set hours, minutes and seconds with the arrows, or pick a preset under the clock or in the panel below. The display shows the value you are setting.
- Start the countdown – Click Start or press Space. The timer counts down and shows the remaining time in the browser tab too.
- Alarm and reset – At zero the digits blink and the sound plays until you click Turn off. Reset takes you back to the set value. Configure lets you change the sound, title and what happens at zero.
The timer keeps counting after a page reload and in a background tab, because the end time is stored in your browser. Keep the tab open: the alarm can only play in an open browser, and a sleeping phone may stop it. Use Test in Configure to check the volume. Shortcuts: Space start/stop, R reset, F full screen.
Frequently asked questions
What can I do with 10 minutes?
A short workout, a meditation, a power tidy, steaming rice, or a focused writing sprint. If you work in 25-minute blocks, 10 minutes is the long break after four of them.
