Online Timer
Set the hours, minutes and seconds, press Start and the timer counts down to zero. When it reaches zero you hear an alarm.
- Set the time – Click Configure and set hours, minutes and seconds with the arrows, or pick a preset under the clock or in the panel below. The display shows the value you are setting.
- Start the countdown – Click Start or press Space. The timer counts down and shows the remaining time in the browser tab too.
- Alarm and reset – At zero the digits blink and the sound plays until you click Turn off. Reset takes you back to the set value. Configure lets you change the sound, title and what happens at zero.
The timer keeps counting after a page reload and in a background tab, because the end time is stored in your browser. Keep the tab open: the alarm can only play in an open browser, and a sleeping phone may stop it. Use Test in Configure to check the volume. Shortcuts: Space start/stop, R reset, F full screen.
Frequently asked questions
Will the alarm sound if the tab is in the background?
Yes, as long as the browser is open, even with the tab in the background; the tab title flashes too. A sleeping computer or a phone with the screen off may stop the sound, so the page tries to keep the screen awake while counting.
Can I share a timer with a specific time?
Yes. Every preset has its own address (for example the 5 minute timer), and a custom time is added to the link after you start. Use the share button in the corner.
What is the difference between a timer and a stopwatch?
A timer counts down from a set value and alerts you at zero. A stopwatch counts up from zero and measures how much time has passed.
